Demarche
I then discovered the exotic and precious woods that incited me to create new volumes with softer and purer lines. Little by little, my perception become more tactile.
I was encouraged by the sensuality of the curves of this new material as I feel it calls for caresses.
Primeval and original shapes come out of direct carving. The shapes seem off-time and possess their own life.
The colours of the wood, its folds and twists impose their own energy, absorb light and send it back. Shapes become productive.
Bareness and austerity is transformed into irradiant purity, lines burst out after the polishing stage.
The duplicity of the curves and edges allow a "fossilized mouvement".
Still but lively shapes suggest oscillatory and swinging mouvements like "an aquatic flight".
Emotion arising from simplicity !
Career
Né le 21 novembre 1961 à Dijon.
C'est en 1979, en autodidacte, que je rencontre le bois et réalise mes premiers travaux (table de salon, petit mobilier, jeux d'échecs ,etc...
Depuis 1990, exposition régulière à la Boutique Française Design 95 (Paris) ainsi qu'au Marché de la Création (Lyon).
